CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- University of Maine junior third baseman Eric White (Brewer, Maine) was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday, April 15. It is the second time in three weeks that White has garnered Player of the Week honors from the conference. 

White hit .444 last week with with eight runs scored and seven RBI in four games. He belted three home runs on the week and hit a double. He finished with 18 total bases for a 1.000 slugging percentage. 

He had an outstanding day on Saturday as the Black Bears swept the Retrievers. In Maine's 19-0 win, White went 4-for-5 with four runs scored and four RBI. He belted a pair of home runs in the game. In the second game of a doubleheader, White broke a 7-7 tie when he led off the top of the 10th inning with a home run. It was his third home run of the day. He capped the weekend with a pair of runs driven in and a run scored as Maine defeated UMBC 10-7 on Sunday to complete the weekend sweep. 

White and the Black Bears return to action on Tuesday, April 16 when they host Colby at 4 PM at Mahaney Diamond. Maine continues its homestand this weekend when it hosts defending America East champion Stony Brook for three games.
