NEWARK – UMaine men’s basketball earned its second win of the season after downing NJIT 45-41 on Sunday afternoon.
So far this season, the story has been the play of freshman LeChaun DuHart and sophomore Stephane Ingo, and their effort on Sunday translated to a win over the Highlanders. DuHart finished the game with 15 points, while Ingo added 10 and six blocks of the defensive end.
NJIT went on an 11-2 run in the middle of the second half, but UMaine hung tough down the stretch.
Precious Okoh also made his presence known on Sunday, scoring nine points including a three-pointer to give the Black Bears a 40-37 lead with under two minutes to play.
Now 2-5 on the year, UMaine will travel to Vermont next weekend to take on the Catamounts.
