LEWISTON – Fort Kent native, Austin Theriault, was supposed to be driving the No. 52 Rick Ware racing car covered with the Travis Mills Foundation name and logo this weekend.
He’ll be at the Ford EcoBoost 400 in Florida, but he won’t be racing. A premature press release said Theriault had been cleared by NASCAR’s medical team to race, but he later clarified to ABC 7/FOX 22 that he in fact will not be racing.
Theriault will still be at the track in a supportive role, he did not disclose the injury he sustained, but said he is excited to be back racing in 2020.
The EcoBoost 400 is the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship.
