ORONO – Orono field hockey made their senior night a special one, shutting out Central 11-0.   The Red Riots came out hot scoring five goals in the first 15 minutes.   They went on to scatter six more throughout the rest of the game.   Orono improves 7-6 on the season.

PORTLAND – Portland Bulldogs blanked the Bangor Rams in Portland tonight 49-0.       Early in the first quarter Bangor fumbled the ball which led to a Bangor touchdown, and the Bulldogs did not look back.   The Bulldogs seven touchdowns were accented by huge Gabe Higgins run and a deep bomb from Sam Knop to Ben Trefethan.    

HERMON – Play of the week honors this week go to Hermon’s Garrett Trask.   Trask evaded a host of Old Town defenders before making a run down the sideline.   He earned himself a touchdown there, and the Hawks went on to win 42-27.
