OLD TOWN – There will be a changing of the guard next season in Old Town. After eight seasons with the Coyotes softball program, head coach Jenn Plourde tells up she is stepping down.
Plourde and her Old Town teams won three state champions in her eight seasons in charge; first in 2012, and back to back Gold Gloves in 2016 and 2017.
When reached by phoneon Friday, Plourde said it was a sad day and she will miss her teams at Old Town dearly.
The decision comes as she transitions to a new job as a physical education teacher at Central High School. With the change in commute, she felt she could not be as timely to practices and games as she expects her players to be.
She will continue her work as an assistant coach with the Husson softball program.
