MILFORD, Conn. – The last couple weeks, Mt. Ararat grad Caleb Manuel has been lights out on the golf course, and he carried that momentum into the final day of the New England Amateur championship.
After winning the Maine Amateur title down in Bar Harbor last week, the 19-year-old roared on the back-nine of Great River Golf Club, to set up a dramatic finish on the third and final day of the tournament, eventually capturing second place in the three-day event.
Manuel closed out his tournament with a 68 on Thursday, including an eagle on 17 to get within one shot of first an put some pressure on leader Cody Paladino. He was able to capture first, finishing 10-under, while Manuel finished the week at 9-under.
