PORTLAND – The Maine Mariners hockey team has only signed one native Mainers in the teams history, and he will continue his professional career there next season.
The Mariners are re-signing Cumberland native Ted Hart to a new contract. The former Greely and Yale star enjoyed a strong rookie season for the Mariner, tallying for 18 points in 48 games.
Last November, Hart became the first Maine born player to play for the mariners. He went on to score the team’s final goal before the pandemic hit, and now is looking forward to playing another season in Portland. “It’s great you know looking up I can see all my family and friends there they’re all super excited to go to the game it’s difficult not to be fired up playing in front of your family every night so I’m definitely looking forward to it and I can’t wait,” said Hart.
