BANGOR - The teams from Hermon, Hampden and Ellsworth will compete against some of the best in Vermont high school basketball teams.

All three teams will have the opportunity to play at the University of Vermont's Patrick Gym, and the squads will have the opportunity to work out new plays in front of opponents they don't play in the regular season.

"The summertime is a great time to work individually and as a team but around here you see a common opponents and you might not want to show everything so it's exciting to see a different team but you can go deep into your playbook and not worry about anything," said Hermon girls basketball head coach Chris Cameron.

The trip also offers the players the opportunity to visit a college campus and tour a new area, an important part of the high school process according to organizer Bill Libby.

"UVM was gracious as far as hosting us and having us there, nothing wrong with getting kids on a campus and checking it out, and that was really the idea, just to give them something different than what they see here, different competition..." said Libby.
