No. 4 Orono takes out No. 2 Fort Kent, 3-2, in extra innings to win Class B North baseball championship

BANGOR - This is Orono's second northern Maine championship in three years.

Josh Soucy opened the score for Fort Kent in the bottom of the first inning and the two would trade runs through the whole game.

 

Orono tied the game at two in the top of the seventh inning to force extra inning when Jayden Dana hit a single into left field scoring Jason Desisto.

 

The Red RIots scored the winning run in the top of the eighth inning when Dustin Shaw's bunt caused an error at first base. allowing Cam Shorette to score from second base.

 

Orono faces a rematch from 2017 Class C state championship on Saturday, as they face Class C South champion Lisbon for the 2019 state championship.
