BANGOR - The now-inactive scoreboard was around twenty years old when it stopped working, according to board member Mark Owens.

Last Friday the scoreboard on the Little League field in Bangor stopped working for good, now the league is looking for $15,000 for a new scoreboard and infield for that field.

The infield currently uses a gravel mix for the infield, they are looking to replace that mix with a safer infield dirt mix.

As the league's participation numbers continue, the league is attempting to ensure they'll be able to provide for the growing league, "having nice things helps the kids, makes them want to play more baseball, makes them excited to come. We have some kids that come back and volunteer to announce the kids names for every game so they like that and anything that gets the kids more excited about baseball is good for everybody," said Board of Directors Member-at-Large Mark Owens,
