ORONO - The Black Bears outscored the River Hawks in both games by a combined 23-7.

Hernen Sardinas set the standard for the rest of the Maine team by homering in the first inning of game one in his first at-bat.

They would go on to score17 more runs for a final score of 18-4.

The second game of the day would be much more mild-mannered, the Black Bears winning that game 5-3.

Matt Geoffreon faced a bases loaded situation in the final inning of the outing, but was able to secure the save.

Lowell and Maine will face off for a third time Sunday at noon.
