Offense starting to come around for Maine baseball

ORONO - Coming off its best weekend of the year, Maine baseball is hoping the weather can warm back up for its upcoming home series with UMass Lowell. The Black Bears are also hoping the balmy weather can come with hot bats.

The Black Bears scored 9 runs on eleven hits in their series finale win over UMBC this past weekend. It was the first sign of life for an offense that was the strong point of last years team.


Head Coach Nick Derba says the offensive production is slowly but surely coming. Needless to say it's been a focal point at practice.


"We're spending a lot more time the last three weeks on offense. Really we've had the time to practice hoping it'll pay off moving forward I mean you take a look behind us today is a pure offensive day this is about our hitters getting ready to go," Derba said.
