AUGUSTA - The No. 2 Hampden girls return to the state championship for the second year in a row, and the Lawrence boys won their first regional title since 1999.

The No. 1 Skowhegan girls had a tough time against the Hampden zone late in the game, and resorted to trying to stall the clock out.

That tactic did not prove effective, and late baskets by Bailey Donovan and Amelia McLaughlin sealed the victory for the Broncos, 32-28.

On the boys side, the No. 4 Lawrence opened the game with a 10-2 run against the No. 7 Skowhegan boys and rode it to a 57-50.
