BANGOR - Jaroslav Ruta finished with 22 points in their upset win over the Mariners.

The MCI boys struggled to make shots in the first half, but was able to push back against Oceanside's lead after coming out strong in the second half.

Both teams traded shots in the closing seconds and Cooper Wirkala tied the game to send it to overtime.

Oceanside desperately tried to get themselves back into the game in OT after an early push by the Huskies, but was unsuccessful and MCI took the win 58-52.

They move on to face No. 1 Hermon.

The MCI girls did not enjoy the same success against No. 1 MDI.

MDI girls came out slow in the first half, after powering past the MCI zone behind Hannah Chamberlain's team-leading performance.

The Trojans will face off against No. 5 Winslow in the semifinals, a rematch from last year's quarterfinals.
