CORINTH - Both of the Red Devils' game this weekend were played for long-time Central teacher Karen Girvan.

Central had a packed crowd for a strong offensive performance by their girls team, many wearing t-shirts supporting Girvan.

The Red Devils dominated in the paint, even maintaining possession for the final forty seconds of the first half before Ali Shaw scored the final bucket of the half.

This game was a part of Central's "Coaches versus Cancer" weekend in support of their their long time teacher and two-time breast cancer survivor Karen Girven.

Members of the boys team shot three pointers at halftime to earn donations from sponsors who donated for every shot they made, and they had an impressive showing for their teacher.

All in all, the school's efforts raised over five thousand dollars for Girven's Relay for Life fundraiser, an event she's been a part of twenty years.
