ORONO - In Orono all the hubbub is made about the Maine/UNH rivalry, but Maine/Albany is no slouch either, especially on the hardwood.

Maine women's basketball has had some instant classics on the grandest stages with the Great Danes over the years. The next chapter in the rivalry will take place this weekend.

Maine will take on Albany Saturday afternoon on the road. The last time these two met it was for the America East regular season crown. The Black Bears went on a miraculous fourth quarter charge taking the Great Danes to overtime beating them 74-69.

This matchup will be on the road, a long drive to to the Empire State's capital and an Albany team that is hungry to avenge last season's loss.

"It's not fun because they're really long drives and whatever. We know like every game on the road in conference is going to be really tough. You know we play like really good teams and they are ready. When you're No. 1 everyone wants to beat you so we're ready," Maine women's basketball guard Blanca Millan said.
