ORONO - Eight of the final ten games of 2018 were on the road for Maine women's basketball, and for all ten of those games they were without Fanny Wadling.

"UNH was the first game all year we had all thirteen kids that could suit up, so that was really nice and hopefully we can keep building that..," said head coach Amy Vachon.

The Black Bears are back on the road and Wadling is back in the lineup once again

"I'm here to play basketball so being out is hard and getting back out on the floor is what I want to do..," said Wadling.

The junior forward has seen minutes in her first two games she's been eligible, but she says she's still working to return to midseason form after suffering a concussion against Duke.

"It was kind of easy to get back into playing and the timing and tempo and everything, it's just the conditioning that's lacking a little bit," said Wadling.

Wadling has not been the only injured player for Vachon; the team faced Chattanooga without Wadling or Parise Rossignol, who was dealing with back spasms.

"At first it was a little frustrating because it was back spasms and you kind of never really know when they're going to happen but I haven't had any in like a week now so it feels nice to not have to worry about that right now, " said Rossignol.

The squad returns to form just in time for conference play, already notching a 2-0 start to the most important part of their schedule.

They'll look to make it 3-0 Wednesday night, as they start a stretch of three road games in their next four beginning in Vermont.

"In a way it's kind of like starting over..a couple days ago, this is a new season, brand new, you know hopefully what we learned in non-conference will help us in conference," said Vachon.

The remaining schedule for the Black Bears holds an even greater weight, as they look to cut down another net after winning another America East championship in March.
