BANGOR - When the senior league world series left Bangor a few summers ago, so did a longtime summer staple. That tradition is returning this, sort of.

Maine district three little league baseball has announced that the senior league east regional tournament will be coming to Bangor.

The tournament will be played in late July and will feature 10-12 teams from the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Two Maine teams, the district three champion and state champion will be a part of the tournament as well.

"We think it's a great opportunity for local youth baseball players as well as baseball players throughout the state of Maine to afford them this opportunity," Maine district three little league baseball administrator Mike Brooker said.

All of the games will take place at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.
