ORONO - The night before Maine football's biggest game in five years Orono Brewing Company held an old school pep rally with the school.

The brewery held a car smash Friday to rally support for the Black Bears ahead of their playoff game Saturday against Jacksonville State.

Every swing on the Gamecock-themed car raised money for the Bangor Humane Society and the Alfond Fund.

head coach Joe Harasymiak made an appearance to address the student-heavy crowd and made the first swings, He even broke the sledgeghammer off into the car on one.

Harasymiak said he might have found his new way to work off stress.

"That is some stress relief right there..That was pretty fun I had never done that before..I guess whenever I have a problem I need to find a car and take it out on it..It was definitely more enjoyable than I thought it was going to be," said Harasymiak.
