Patrick Holway leaves Maine men's ice hockey program

ORONO - Just a day before it opens its season Maine men's hockey has announced that defenseman Patrick Holway has left the program. 

"We want to thank Pat for his contributions to our program," Maine men's hockey head coach Red Gendron said. "We wish him great success in the future," he added.


The junior defenseman was an integral part of the Black Bears blue line last year scoring 19 points in 33 games. Holway was also second on the team with 54 blocked shots. 


Maine kicks off its season Monday in a home exhibition game against the University of Prince Edward Island.
