ORONO - It's not everyday a Class C or D football player gets to play for the University of Maine. That dream has become a reality for former MCI Huskies running back Adam Bertrand who has earned a walk-on spot for the blue and white.

Bertrand was the heart and soul of last years Class C champion Husky team. The senior rushed for a team high 785 yards in the regular season and scored 12 touchdowns.

The hard-nosed running back brought his game to another level in the Class C playoffs as he helped the sixth seeded Huskies down the top three seeds in Class C North en route to an upset win over Cape Elizabeth in the Class C state title game.
