BANGOR - If you were a baseball player would you rather team up with your rival or not play at all?

For Brewer, it took the former as the town wasn't able to field a legion team this summer.

So it teamed up with its rival across the river and things have been great so far.

A handful of Brewer Witches joined the Coffee News Comrades this summer. The Comrades won the legion state championship last season and the new look team is fairing just as well this season. The rivalry hasn't really effected how the team has meshed this season, in fact the team has gelled well so far.

"I like it a lot we get to know each other more so we don't clash against each other as much it brings the best of both teams together so we can create a very good team to hopefully go somewhere," Coffee News Comrades catcher Andrew Kiley said.
