WATERVILLE - When Cape Elizabeth baseball catcher Brendan Tinsman won Gatorade Player of the Year a few weeks ago he was determined to complete the sweep and take home the top senior baseball honor in Maine.

He did just that.

Tinsman beat out eight other finalist including MCI's Pedro Matos, Dexter's Jacob Bickford and Bangor Christian's Dean Grass for Mr. Maine Baseball.

The Cape Elizabeth catcher will be continuing his career at Wake Forest next year. It was his last day in Caper's gold, one that he'll never forget.

"After I won Gatorade Player of the Year there was just one more thing that I really wanted to win and I got it and i'm extremely grateful for all the awards this year. The last time wearing a Cape jersey kind of emotional been wearing it for four years, going to be kind of different down south," Tinsman said.
