AUGUSTA - Bangor baseball catcher Tyler Parke hadn't hit a home run all season. The senior dug into the box in the seventh inning, Bangor and Oxford Hills tied at one, the Northern Maine championship on the line.

The captain came through, in a big way. Parke hit a walk-off grand slam to send the Rams past the Vikings 5-1 and on to the Class A title game.

"I'm on that high you know that was the first one to even come close to going out so it's special to do it now. We're never going to be on this same team together so let's go out with a bang let's grind it out," Parke said.

Bangor will play Gorham in the state championship game Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's College.
