ORONO - Maine women's hockey head coach Richard Reichenbach significantly bolstered his resume this season, it should come as no surprise that he's been rewarded.

Reichenbach signed a three year contract extension today.

This past season he set a program record with 19 wins, lead the Black Bears to their first playoff and series win over Boston University. Reichenbach was also named the New England Hockey Writers Division I Coach of the Year in addition to being the women's Hockey East coach of the year.

The fifth year head coach is ecstatic to continue leading the program to new heights.

"You know to be a part of the women's program and building their history and helping them get to new levels has been a huge honor and being able to work in this historic building everyday is pretty cool too," Reichenbach said.
