BLUE HILL – Orono baseball defeated George Stevens Academy in commanding fashion on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Riots held a 3-1 through the first four innings before adding five more in the fifth. Free bases in the form of walks and hit batters led to runs for Orono, but it was Javier Santiago who came through with a two RBI triple to make it 8-1.
Cam Shorette was sharp on the mound, striking out the side in the bottom of the fifth en route to picking up a 14-1 win.
Orono is scheduled to host Searsport on May 5, first pitch at 4:30 p.m. George Stevens is set to host MDI on May 4 beginning at 4:30 p.m.
