ROCKFORD, IL – A locker room leader in Orono for the past four years is not done on the ice just yet, as Mitch Fossier has signed a one year deal with the Rockford Ice Hogs.
Fossier was the UMaine men’s hockey captain in the abbreviated 2019 -2020 season, and a catalyst to the offense. He will hope to provide a similar spark for the Chicago Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate.
The Alpharetta, Georgia native signed a one year deal with the Rockford Ice Hogs with plenty to prove at the professional level after having his best college season cut short this spring due to COVID-19. Fossier is not entirely new to the area, spending time with the nearly NAHL Janesville Jets on the other side of the Wisconsin/Illinois state line.
We will have more with Fossier this weekend on the Fox 22 News at 10.
