ELLSWORTH – Ellsworth High School will be inducting seven former athletes into its athletic hall of fame on Saturday.
Corey Dewitt, Paul Firlotte, Danny Kane, CeCe McEachern, Chad Sattler, Terry Spurling and Jennifer (Wadman) Myers will be inducted at the high school on Saturday at noon.
Dewitt played basketball and ran indoor track and cross country for the Eagles. He set a Class B tournament single game record with 52 points in 2007.
Firlotte ran cross country at Ellsworth and finished his high school career undefeated. He later ran at UMaine and won the Yankee Conference championship three times and the college New England championship once.
Kane played baseball and was on the first Ellsworth baseball team to win a state title. He too competed at the University of Maine and set the doubles, hits RBI and games played records there.
McEachern was a 3-time PVC and 2-time state champions swimmer for the Eagles.
Sattler set a single season record with 41 goals his senior year for Ellsworth.
Spurling helped lead the boys basketball team to a Class L state championship in 1953 and 1954 and to the New England championships at the Boston Garden.
Lastly, Jennifer (Wadman) Myers was a foirst team PVC all-star for two years, she graduated in 1988.
