CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Maine men’s hockey fell to Boston College for the second-consecutive night despite a strong effort for freshman goaltender Victor Ostman.
BC had its top-ranked offense on display in the first period, but Ostman was up to the challenge. The freshman goalie stopped 56 pucks on the net, the most for a Maine goalie since Jeremy Swayman’s 52 against Providence back in 2019, according to Maine Athletics.
After a scoreless first period, BC’s Patrick Giles opened up the scoring after Ostman stopped a bevy of chances from the Eagles. Boston’s Alex Newhook added a second for the Eagles in the third period, while Colby Ambrosio made it 3-0 just a couple minutes later to solidify a 3-0 win for BC.
