YORK – Some of the top amateur men’s golfers powered through 36 holes at The Ledges in York on Monday.
Camden hills grad Cole Anderson was among those attempting to qualify for the U.S. Amateur Championship on Monday.
He finished his first 18 at two-under, in one of the two automatic qualifying spots on the leader board.
Four bogeys on the second 18 left him even par, while three of the other top players posted sub-par rounds.
Anderson will be the second alternate for this qualifier while the top two finishers, Liam Gill of Marlborough, Mass. and William Duquette of Montreal, advance.
The qualifier comes four days after Anderson just missed the cut at the Southern Amateur in Mississippi.
He is ranked 216 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings as of July 19, down six spots from the previous week.
