ORONO – This will be the first time a combat sports event will be held at the Collins Center, and the first NEF event in Orono.
New England Fights co-owner Matt Peterson said he has a strong emotional connection to the school, having attended UMaine in the 1990’s and many of his life long friends also attended the school.
Peterson went to say he considered the school “an icon of Maine” and that the event made sense considering the school’s athletic success.
NEF 40: School of Hard Knocks will take place Saturday, September 7.
