ORONO – Despite another disappointing finish to its season Maine men’s hockey can hold its head up knowing its taken home some postseason awards.
Four Black Bears landed Hockey East awards.
Former captain Chase Pearson was named the best defensive forward and a second team all-star.
Keeper earned a third team nod along with goalie Jeremy Swayman and forward Mitch Fosser.
Pearson and Keeper signed NHL contracts yesterday forgoing their remaining years in Orono.
Swayman finished the season with a .919 save percentage and a 2.77 goals against average.
Fossier had a breakout year leading the team with 36 points. His 28 assists were good enough for third in the conference and 11th in the nation.
