ORONO – An 0-13 start is definitely not what you want if you’re Maine baseball. What you do want is progress and health, which is something Maine baseball has.
Maine is getting three big arms back in Cody Laweryson, Nick Silva and Justin Courtney will be making his long awaited return to the mound. Courtney missed most of last season with a torn UCL.
Head coach Nick Derba is ecstatic to have his ace back and is feeling good vibes heading into the home stretch of non-conference play.
“We’re starting to click along here right in time for conference play. I’ve never been this excited here since I’ve been at the University of Maine, I think that’s the best way of putting it. As a general rule forget about our record this team is really ready to role,” Derba said.
