ORONO, Maine — For the third time this season, Maine sophomore Devin Shore (Ajax, Ontario) was named the Warrior Hockey Player of the Week, presented by Hockey East. Shore had a goal and three assists in Maine’s weekend split with New Hampshire.
On Saturday, Shore had a hand in all four goals as Maine defeated New Hampshire 4-2. He scored Maine’s first goal at 6:28 of the first period to knot the score at 1-1. He then picked up the primary assist on Eric Schurhamer‘s (St. Paul, Minn.) goal at 2:29 of the third period which tied the game at 2-2. Shore made a perfect pass to Ryan Lomberg (Richmond Hill, Ontario) later in the period on what proved to be the game-winning goal. He then fed Brian Morgan (Windham, N.H.) the puck late in the third period as the Black Bears iced the game with an empty net goal.
Shore leads the Black Bears in scoring with 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points. He has three pwoer play goals, three short-handed goals and a pair of game-winners.
After an off weekend next weekend, the Black Bears travel to Hockey East newcomer Notre Dame on Feb. 7 and 8.
