The Lions' second-round pick in 2011 was at it again Friday, sending out more controversial remarks on Twitter. This time he directed the tweets toward team management.
"Oh I'm not done, if y'all going to cut me let me go. I'm tired of the threats," Young tweeted early Friday morning through his handle @TitusYoungSr. "Never needed the money Give me a dollar and a ball bet I come back #HallofFame."
More like Hall of Shame.
The new tweets came just days after Young ranted on Twitter about not being a selfish player, then posting "if I'm not going to get the football I don't want to play anymore."
Head coach Jim Schwartz downplayed the Tuesday tweets, telling the Detroit Free Press, "Every offensive player wants the football, and there's good ways to go about trying to get that done. This is a pretty good example of a not-so-good idea."
The more recent tweets — coupled with Young's previous offenses, including missing the final six games of the season following multiple disciplinary issues — will be harder for the team to brush off.
It's customary for NFL teams not to make any major moves until after the Super Bowl on Feb. 3. Maybe the following Monday is the last time Young makes headlines with the Lions.
