Here's the latest regarding longtime Jonesport Beals coach Ordie Alley's ouster from the Maine Sports Hall of Fame.

In a press release from his lawyer, Brett Baber, Alley denies the allegations of sexual abuse that have forced his removal. "I have heard these allegations before and they are completely without merit...Neither organization contacted me for my perspective before they reached an unfounded conclusion."

He added both women making claims have tried to disparage his name in the past, including a paternity test and a letter in 2005 claiming sexual abuse, and says he's "exploring my own options of bringing legal action against those who have slandered me."

At last weeks Maine Basketball Hall of Fame ceremonies we asked board chair Steve Pound why Alley was no longer included on the induction list, but Pound simply said he had no further comment at this time.

Attached is Alley's full statement regarding the allegations.
