BANGOR - Most teams that turn the ball over 28 times in one game don't end up winning, but most teams don't have the versatility of Maine women's basketball.

The Black Bears rebounded from a 19-0 Hartford run in the first half, using the shooting of sophomores Blanca Millan and Julie Brosseau to down the Hawks 59-56 in Bangor. Maine now moves into a virtual tie for first place in America East with rival Albany.

Earlier in the day, Millan and freshman guard Dor Saar were named America East Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for the second time each respectively. Millan has now scored in double-digits in 23 straight games.
