HOWLAND - The PVC wrestling championships took place at PVHS Saturday afternoon.

Foxcroft Academy came in first place followed by Mattanawcook, Ellsworth, Dexter and Bucksport.

In the 195 weight class Dexter sophomore Eric Bennett came in third place, just missing the championship round.

In his final match of the day he took care of Caribou's Kirtis Jandreau. Despite not advancing to the championship round, Bennett was proud of the way he fought back in his final match.

"Don't give up, even though I was on top most of the match. Even though it was a long struggle he was a good person and I feel bad for hurting him but I guess its just the sport and you have to sometimes," Bennett said.
