Maine DOC recommends closing of a number jails

Town awaits Joyce McLain murder verdict

EAST MILLINOCKET- “Everybody thought she would turn up. She just stopped somewhere for the night,” said longtime selectman Clint Linscott.

That was 38 years ago when teenager Joyce McLain disappeared after going for a run. Her badly beaten body turned up two days later behind Schenck High School, and now accused murderer 57 year-old Phillip Scott Fournier is waiting for a judge to decide if he is guilty of the crime.
