Fire Destroys Home and Sends One to Hospital
WELLS - A late night fire in Southern Maine has completely destroyed a two-story home and sent one man to the hospital.
At approximately 11:20 p.m. Friday fire crews responded to 1422 Post Road in Wells for a structure fire. The two-story home on Route 1 near Wells Junior High School was fully involved and crews were unable to go inside, making for a strictly defensive attack.
One man, whose name is not being released, was sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation and burns.
Authorities believe the blaze started in the kitchen. The home was destroyed. The fire was extinguished at around midnight.
The Fire Marshal's Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the blaze, as no source has been determined yet.
