New band shell

It's an exciting night for the Bangor Band.

It's performing the first concert on the Bangor waterfront with it's new inflatable band shell.

Crews were busy setting up the shell this afternoon and struggling with gusty conditions.

The Band had hoped to build a new gazebo like the one they used for years outside the Bangor Auditorium, but it didnt work out.

The groud on the waterfront is too unstable for a gazebo and it would've cost more than $100 thousand dollars to make it happen.

Tonights show will get underway at 7:00 and is free of charge.

There will be performances every Tuesday on the waterfront accept for when rain forces them inside the William s.Cohen Middle School.

They're also having a contest to come up with a name for the new inflatable shell.
