Maxx Noble Turns Himself in


A man who escaped from police custody on Tuesday is in jail tonight.  State Police say 27-year-old Maxx Noble turned himself in to police late Wednesday night.  He escaped from the back of a police cruiser in Otisfield shortly after he was arrested on drug and firearm charges.

He had been on the run since, but his mother drove him to the Oxford County Jail Wednesday night.  He now faces an escape charge in addition to other charges and he is expected to be in Maine District Court in South Paris on Thursday.

New State House Copper Roof House to Time Capsule

The new copper roof on the State House won't likely be replaced for another century, but when it is, workers will come across a bit of Maine history.

A group of lawmakers have placed a time capsule  inside the new dome.  The copper box was filled with a gavel from the speaker of the house, a copy of the day's Kennebec Journal, and letters to future Mainers.  Work to replace the old copper dome began this spring and is expected to wrap up entirely by November.  This week, the Legislative council also approved a plan to sell the old copper to artists and jewelers to be made into souvenirs.

Windham Couple Pleads Guilty to Firearm Charges


A Windham couple pleads guilty to firearms charges.

55 year old Ted Thomes and his wife 51 year old Renee acquired several handguns belonging to a neighbor  they served as caretakers. They then illegally gave them to a New Hampshire based auctioneer.

Ted is convicted of being a felon in possession of firearms and faces up to 10 years in prison.

Renee is convicted of knowingly transferring firearms to a non-Maine resident... she faces five years in prison.

Both could pay $250,000 in fines.

Brunswick Man Guilty in Crack Cocaine Trafficking



A Brunswick man pleaded guilty to cocaine trafficking charges in U.S. District Court today.

46 year old Gary Collins was in possession of more than 28 grams of cocaine base.

On June 3, 2013 Collins and others packaged crack cocaine for distribution at a Portland hotel.  He was found by Portland police officers with crack cocaine and arrested the next day.

Gary Collins faces between 10 years and life in prison.
