Fatal fire

Fire investigators say they'll never know what caused a deadly fire over the weekend in Perry. The home on Birch point road was so heavily damaged they wont be able to pinpoint a cause. 93 year old Curtis Probert was in the house when the blaze erupted late Saturday afternoon. He managed to escape, but his wife later found him lying in the driveway. The medical examiner's office says he died from the combination of smoke inhalation and burns.The two story house was engulfed in flames by the time rescuers arrived.

 

Bangor Woman's Murder Trial Begins

BANGOR - The trial for a Bangor woman, charged with murdering her husband in June of 2011, is now underway after a court ruled last week that the defendant was competent to stand trial.

Missing man

Bangor police are asking for the publics help in the search for a missing man. They're trying to find 22 year old Si Lam who disappeared from his families home sometime Saturday night. Police say he was staying at a home on Garland street and the last time anyone saw him was around 10:30 Saturday. He left the home sometime during the night and hasn't been seen since. Police say lam is new to the area and they have no idea where he went.  They say it's also unusual for him to simply vanish without telling anyone where he was going. Manhunt ends in Bangor

The search has ended for a man who was described by police as being armed and dangerous. 42 year old Jason Trickett was arrested this morning in Bangor after being accused of stealing a car, money and a gun. You may recall, Trickett was acquitted of manslaughter charges this fall following a fatal stabbing on first street. Trickett was accused of killing Andy Smith during a street fight, but says he was acting in self defense. In the latest incident, police say Trickett stole a jeep, hundreds in cash and a handgun from a home in Machiasport on Sunday. Someone spotted him driving the vehicle at the Mcdonalds on Broadway this morning around 5:30 and he was arrested a short while later.

As predicted a late Fall snow storm hitting our state with great force this Sunday. Mainers breaking out the shovels and the snow blowers, kids hitting neighborhood hills with sleds in hand to experience this almost winter wonderland.

Local Firefighters Shop 'Til They Drop

BANGOR - Kids in need this holiday season benefited from a firefighter's local shopping spree today.

Members of the Bangor Fire Department, and their families, shopped at Robert-O-Cupcakes this evening, for Christmas toys.

The annual event provides gifts for Toys for Tots.

Most of the money was collected at an annual baseball game with the Boston Red Sox Alumni this summer.
