Bill to Require Warrant for Drone Surveillance

AUGUSTA - The American Civil Liberties Union of Maine is working to create limits on the use of unmanned drones for surveillance by law enforcement.
A public hearing was held at the state house today for a bill which would require law enforcement to possess a warrant before using unmanned aerial vehicles for surveillance.

ACLU officials say it's important to protect the right to privacy and freedom from unreasonable search and seizure.
The bill would not protect against drones that can be purchased for recreational use.
