AUGUSTA - The Maine People's Alliance says the gap between the number of jobseekers in Maine, and the number of jobs available continues to grow.
The MPA released a report today which shows that more than 90% of jobs in Maine do not pay a living wage for families of four with two adults working.
The MPA says this is preventing people from affording health care, saving for retirement or preparing for emergencies.
According to the report, a single adult should be making $15.40 an hour to meet basic living requirements in Maine. But more than half are not earning that wage.
