Trooper, K-9 Crusier Crash

PRESQUE ISLE - A Maine State Trooper and his K-9 partner were hit by a vehicle on route 1 in Presque Isle last evening.
A 2006 Dodge Stratus hit Trooper Shawn Whalen's police cruiser.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. Monday after Trooper Whalen was trying to turn around in the roadway.
The Dodge Stratus, driven by 49 year-old Eric Rosten of Presque Isle, slammed into the driver side of the cruiser.
Trooper Whalen suffered a hip injury and was eventually flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Rosten had a minor injury to his hand and Trooper Bailey, the K-9, was not injured at all.
All involved vehicles are a total loss.
