Maine Ports Expect More Cruise Ship Passengers
Maine's ports expect to welcome more than 250,000 cruise ship visitors this year.
CruiseMaine estimates a 17 percent increase in visitors over last year. The industry-promotion firm's director, Amy Powers, says the first ship of the season will dock in Bar Harbor on May 5 and the last is scheduled to visit Portland on November 1. Maine's busiest port, Bar Harbor, expects to host a record 134 cruise ships this year, bringing in 171,000 tourists.
