Newspaper Seeks Concealed Weapon Permit Data
BANGOR - A Maine newspaper has asked police for the names, addresses and birthdates of Mainers with concealed weapons permits.
The "Bangor Daily News" says it has no intention of releasing the data publicly but will use it to better understand gun ownership patterns and trends.
The Maine Sportsmen's Alliance said the move would "enrage and upset" gun owners.
Governor LePage posted a photo to Twitter where he's proudly displaying his own concealed weapons permit.
