Mainers Turning to Neighbors in Times of Hunger

Media

OLD TOWN - There are 1.3 million people in this state--200,000 of them don't have enough to eat.  Our Erin Thomas reports.
Thousands of Mainers simply don't have enough to eat...lacking access to nutritious food.  Now, pantries around the state are pulling together to help feed our hungry neighbors.

Some school districts have even started backpack programs...aimed at sending kids home on the weekends with a few healthy items to help supplement what they may be lacking.
