AUGUSTA - Mainers can now see where the state is spending their money, with just the click of a mouse.
Maine Open Checkbook, is the new open government website that Governor Paul Lepage brought up in his state of the state speech Tuesday night.
Democratic House Speaker Mark Eves said in a statement, he hopes the site will be a productive tool to help Mainers better understand how government works.
Individuals can currently search details of state spending, including vendor payments and employee compensation.
