College of the Atlantic Offering Free Electric Car Charging

BAR HARBOR - It is a green concept that's slowly but surely catching on... and now one local college is offering a free service for those who drive electric cars.

College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor has installed a plug in station for electric vehicles to charge up at no cost to the driver.  The solar powered project started as a grant that was given to the university, and with the help of a local car dealership, turned into a much more extensive project.  Students and faculty hope it will benefit not only their school but the entire community.

The charge up station is located by the first entrance to the school off of route 3.
